police brutality

Red White & Blue….. and Black

I live in country where I– a good person who has never been in trouble with the law, a person who goes out of his way to help others and doesn’t take advantage of people, a college graduate with a Masters degree, a former college football player, a current high school teacher and football coach, a father of two very young, amazing boys– can get murdered by a jumpy cop or overzealous civilian because I’m black and my appearance makes him “fear for his life.”

I live in a country where I’m required to go out of my way to try to appear “less threatening”– not only to cops, but pretty much EVERYONE… Where everything I do and say must be calculated and strategized ahead of time.. Where I don’t get the luxury of having disagreements or publicly losing my temper.

I live in country where some crazy domestic terrorist may target me and my family for no other reason than the fact that I’m black.

It’s 2018…
